MOTHER'S DAY WEEKEND

HAPPIEST DAY TO ALL THE MOM'S OUT THERE.

My firstborn daughter, Paris, was born in 1973.
My second daughter, Pilar, was born in 1975.

My third and final child, Samuel, was born in 1990.
Imagine after 15 years to go through the whole childbirth thing all over again. Oh, but there is such a story behind his birth.

After almost 10 years of drug abuse, God saw fit to spare my life and allow me one more chance to get the parenting thing right. My daughters had to endure many years of a drug induced mother - they were too young and frightened and not in control of our situation - I was supposed to be the "Mom". I was supposed to have all the right answers, instead, often I would look to them for the answers. On April 9, 1989 I asked God to spare me once more, and He did. I haven't used a drug or drink from that day to this.
THEN SAM SHOWED UP!!!! All I can say now and then was, "WOW!" My baby child at that time was soon to be 15 and a new baby was going to be entering our existence? Only God knew what was to come next. I remember Pilar saying to me when Sam was born - "God has given you a second chance at Mothering, and we will be here to watch you do it".
It's been a long time since those early days of recovery - No longer am I skinny, lost and frail, but I am the Mom I really wanted to always be and hopefully I'm getting better all the time.
I'm so proud of my children's accomplishments, despite the rough journey they had with me. Paris owns her own Internet business' - what a helluva business woman she has turned out to be, and she is the mother of my precious 3 grandchildren.
Pilar has graduated from UIC, Chicago, with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice - so proud, Bunny!!
Sam is 16 and driving me crazy, as I guess, all 16 year old so. But he is a loving and very special kid that God gave to me in a time of need and we only can imagine how far he will go in his life, The world is yours to claim, My Son!

My fabulous Grandchildren are my legacy - I love you all so much!

Happy Mother's Day Everbody. In all my ways, I will acknowledge God and HE will direct my path!
